Ceramic Ferrule
Ceramic Ferrule is a necessary part of the Stud welding process.
Ceramic Ferrule is designed by the following functions:
• Protection of the weld pool by the creation of metal vapor in the burning chamber at sufficient current intensity.
• Concentration and stabilization of the arc thus reducing arc blow.
• Moulding of the displaced weld pool to a welt collar and supporting of the weld pool.
Furthermore, it shields the operator from both arc and spatters. The ceramic ferrule is used for one weld only and is removed once the molten metal has solidified.
Stalwart ceramic ferrules come with a high precision size and low water absorption rate which can significantly improve the weld result.
